Birdwatching: The main activity is birdwatching. Depending on your setting, this could be done in a school garden, local park, or even from the windows of your setting. Children can count and identify different bird species.
Making Bird Feeders: As part of the event, you could help children make simple bird feeders from pine cones, peanut butter, and birdseed. Hang these in an area where children can observe the birds coming to feed.
Remember to register your setting for the Big Schools’ Birdwatch on the RSPB website, and submit the results of your bird count.
